- What instruments do you teach?
I specialize in guitar, ukulele, and bass instruction for students of all ages and skill levels. In the studio, there are very experienced and qualified voice and piano instructors as well.
- What ages do you teach?
I work with children (ages 5 and up), teens, and adults. It’s never too early—or too late—to start learning music!
- If my child is a 5 years old can he start on guitar?
Of course, however, my recommendation is to begin with ukulele. It is a smaller instrument with 4 strings and everything they learn will become transferable to the guitar at a later time once they are able to play comfortably.
- Do I need my own instrument?
Yes, students should have their own instrument for lessons and practice. There are instruments in the studio in case you forget to bring yours. I’m also happy to recommend beginner-friendly guitars, ukuleles, or basses if you’re just starting out.
- Do you offer online lessons?
Yes! I offer live online lessons for students who prefer to learn from home or live outside the local area.
- Where are in-person lessons held?
In-person lessons are available at my Orange County, CA studio.
- What lesson formats do you offer?
I offer:
- Private one-on-one lessons
- Semi-private and small group lessons
- Beginner/Introductory group classes for both kids and adults are offered year round at a discounted rate so please check my website for the next start date.
- I also make accommodations for small groups of siblings/friends, feel free to reach out for time slots available if this is preference.
- How much do lessons cost?
Pricing varies by format and length. Lessons are paid on a monthly basis and vary depending on the number of lessons per month. Please contact via the registration for availability.
Private lessons $35-30min, $50-45min.
Semi-private/group lessons. $25
- How often should I take lessons?
Weekly lessons are recommended for consistent progress. Regular practice between sessions is key to building skill and confidence.
- What’s your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for 24-hour notice to reschedule a lesson within the same week. Nonetheless, I understand that life happens. I will do my best to accommodate.
- Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes! I offer a Beginning Introductory 6 week class at a discounted rate of $90, $10 materials fee, so you can see if it’s the right fit before committing to private one on one lessons.
- Do you prepare students for performances or exams?
Absolutely! I can help students prepare for recitals, school performances, competitions, school jazz bands, or even just for fun milestones.
- Can parents sit in during lessons?
For younger students, parents are welcome to observe the first few lessons. After that, I encourage independence—but we can always discuss what’s best for your child.
- Can I choose my own songs or music to learn?
Yes! The curriculum is tailored to each student’s individual goals, musical interests, and skill level. Whether you want to learn your favorite pop song, a classic rock riff, or a specific technique, lessons are customized to keep you motivated and engaged while building a strong musical foundation.
- What’s the difference between private and small group lessons?
Private lessons offer one-on-one instruction tailored specifically to the student’s pace, goals, and musical interests. They’re ideal for focused progress, personalized feedback, and flexible scheduling.
Small group lessons typically include 3-5 students and provide a collaborative learning environment. They are a great option for beginners, who may benefit from learning with peers.
- What are the Pros of Private Lessons:
- Personalized instruction
- Faster progress
- Flexible pace and scheduling
- What are the Pros of Small Group Lessons:
- Social and collaborative atmosphere
- More affordable than private lessons
- Motivating for younger students
Both options are available for guitar, bass, and ukulele instruction. The right choice depends on the student’s learning style, goals, and budget.
